Hard Files
The artists at Bench Craft Company will be happy to create your ad with any hard copies of photographs, logos and layout sketches you provide. Photographs can be presented as a developed positive image or on CD Rom. Photographs taken directly from business cards and yellow page ads are not acceptable, as they will reproduce poorly. Logos can vary in size depending on design complexity, however bigger is always better. Any photographs or logos will be returned upon request. While we are not in the business of logo creation, if you choose to have a Bench Craft Company artist create your artwork, please sketch out the basic layout, describe what you want your ad to say and specify any colors or fonts you want included.
Digital Files:
When building your digital files please bleed backgrounds to ¼ inch over on all sides. However, please allow a ½ inch margin to contain any text and information on all sides within the live area. Scorecard, Real Estate Folder, and Course Guide Book ads do not have a bleed. We print using 4-color process so colors are limitless. We are IBM/PC based and work with CorelDRAW X3.
Whether you are sending completed artwork or components of your artwork, the file types we can accept are:
- CDR (version X3 or earlier)
- EPS (Illustrator EPS files work great saved as v.8.0)
- PDF
- TIFF (300 dpi full size)
- JPG (300 dpi full size)
- GIF
- PSD (PhotoShop v.4.0)
- BMP
We do not accept MS Publisher or Quark Xpress files. Please convert text to curves or send fonts. Please make any images 300 DPI (dots per inch) to produce a good quality image. Digital files can be sent via e-mail to art@benchcraftcompany.com as long as the file size is 10 MB or under. Make sure you include your account number(s) in the subject line of the message. As a precaution, due to the frequency of e-mail triggered computer viruses the art department will likely delete your e-mail without opening it, unless you have the account number in the subject heading. Digital files can also be mailed to Bench Craft on CD/DVD-Roms. Any disks will be returned upon request. It is recommended that you also send a hard copy of your artwork along with the disk.
Scorecard Ad Specifics:
Score card ads are much smaller than our other ad sizes. A score card ad is 2” wide and 7/8” high. Because of this, score card ads should be limited to a logo, one or two lines of text (probably a company/personal name or tag line), a phone number, and possibly an address.
IMPORTANT: Ad Copy Must be Received Within 10 Days of Date of Sale.
